Darebin Chargers  kick off their Luscombe debut against Burnside .

Darebin had a successful start to their debut in Luscombe Shield match against Burnside. On day one  Darebin made a impressive first innings total off 264 off 57 overs. Burnside needed bat 23 overs and at the end day one they were 3 for 61. This made the run chase quite tight it seem until day two. Darbein Capatain Bikram Sidhu was pleased with the total but would like to bat the 80 overs. Moreover they were excited for the opening season and were coming off a big preseason which started in August. Moreover the debut of their new Wicketkeeper Manjot Singh for Darbein from Preston Bassballers is important key player to the team. In addition to this the plan  for the game for Darbein  was to look play 80 overs . Sidhu said “ good contributions by everybody but annoy not batting the 80 overs that is our challenge”, .  On day two Burnside were the better side with chasing down the runs with plenty overs to spare with opening batsman Paul Sammut making a important 123 and captain Anthony Fawcus made a century as they  pass total with lot of time still left in the game, it gave Burnside a chance to go for outright with a 86 run lead and 35 overs to bat. Darbein were able to bat the 35 overs with two wickets to spare which meant they only loss on first innings. Overall Darbein will be disappointed on the lost but there many positives from their inclusion into Luscombse and for the growth of the North West.
